Sick Bar
$480.00
The 2017 CrazyFly Sick Bar is a state of the art control system blending together safety, comfort, durability and simplicity.
With safety being the top priority, the Sick bar has a single front line flag out. It ensures 100% collapse of the kite in all situations when the safety is triggered.
The Sick Click push away quick release conforms to the French safety norm AFNOR NF S52-503. It can be easily triggered with low force in all conditions. Re-loading the Sick Click system is fast and easy, even in difficult conditions.
The CrazyFly Sick Bar can be used in two safety modes: standard and suicide. The standard safety mode provides 100% safety in all situations. We strongly recommend to use the standard safety mode. The suicide modes should only be used by experts, because it does not offer full depower of the kite when losing the bar.
For 2017, we redesigned the bar ends and introduced new floaters. The bar ends are shorter and stiffer while the floaters can be nicely folded for easy pack downs and safe self rescue.
Sick bar exclusive, it features a premium leather grip for unmatched comfort and long lasting durability.
The swivel is integrated under the bar, where it is easy and comfortable to reach for untwisting the front lines after a rotational trick or a kite loop.
Making things simple and clean, we covered the safety line and the center line in a PU tube. The PU tube prevents all wear and tear of the central line and allows for smooth sheeting and handling of the kite.
The depower trim cleat is strategically placed above the bar, where it is easy to reach for making adjustments on the go.
For unmatched comfort and durability, the bar itself has a full carbon construction, making it one of the strongest and lightest bars on the market.
The Sick Bar is the first and only bar made 100% in Europe in the CrazyFly factory and made only from European materials and components.
The Sick Bar is topped with high quality Liros® Dyneema flying lines made in Germany. The lines are pre-stretched with a heavy load, ensuring no further elongation of the lines. Dark grey color of the lines makes them clearly visible when setting up the kite in snow.
Packed with all the great features, yet still comfortable and safe to use. The 2017 CrazyFly Sick Bar – Simple and Clean.

Taina V6

WAVERIDING
The Taina reacts very well to bar input, can be steered one-handed, and has a very precise feel allowing riders to position the kite anywhere in an instant. The kite’s excellent depower gives riders the option to surf with or without kite power. There is no need to look at the kite to know where it is allowing riders to completely focus on the wave.
FREERIDE/OLDSCHOOL
This all-round beast turns sharp, jumps high, has incredible grunt, and catches well during mega-loops. Due to its great depower, sending the kite in overpowered conditions without losing your edge is easily achieved. Its power delivery is exponential giving the kite a superb vertical lift.
RACING/SPEED
The Taina has incredible upwind performance and the ability to fly on all points of sail. With small wingtips, a big projected area, and only 3 struts, we have achieved the highest power to drag ratio making the Taina a top competitor for racing on water and snow.
BEGINNERS/KITESCHOOLS
The Tania’s performance also excels in its user-friendly characteristics. Its profile is shaped in a way that makes the kite virtually impossible to stall and re-launches effortlessly. Due to the Taina’s total depower ability; this kite is very safe and easy to use.
Since 2014, we’ve added the Taina 17 meter to our collection. This size gets riders going in as low as 6-7 knots of wind! We made sure the turning speed and feel stayed similar to the smaller sizes. In 10 knots this kite will have you ride fully powered and offer incredible hang time.
With over 200 windy days a year, our test center in Cabarete demands a kite that can last in surf wipeouts, heavy shore break, strong winds, school use and very frequent sessions. To satisfy this demand, we’ve gathered the best canopy material, one pump system/valves, and bridle lines currently available in the trade.
The 4th generation TAINA 2017 comes in 4 color options, kite bag, and repair kit.
LIGHT WIND (T14 & T17 only)
Because the practice of our sport in light wind does not requires the same kites characteristics than the other wind range, the Taina 14 and 17 were developed in the idea to extend the low range compares to the rest of the collection for that. We first change the complete shape of the kite by adding another strut to keep the kite rigid and bring more stability. We opted for a non-pulley connection for a more direct feeling and more reactivity.
In the first years of the TAINA, with our idea to develop the kite as light as possible we removed the one pump system and the reinforcement that were useless for light wind. As not only light wind riders but also the heaviest of us using the 14 as a freestyle kites, we decided this year to add the necessary Dacron reinforcement for this type of use. The proven effectiveness in light wind added to the demand of a one pump system by most of our customers, the 2017 Taina 14 and 17 models received our single inflation system.

Cote kiteboarding Free kite

One world. One kite

The 2017 CrazyFly Sculp is a versatile all-around performer, suitable for a wide range of riders and styles. It delivers consistency in all riding disciplines and offers incredible wind range and ease of use.

For 2017, we have completely re-worked the Sculp, as it is now made in our own factory in Europe, which opened up unlimited options for improvements and innovation. Shape wise, the Sculp now has a higher aspect ratio, which makes the kite slimmer and much faster. This also results in a more Delta shape which offers smooth, stable, and predictable flight with progressive power delivery.

By challenging traditional kite construction, we came up with numerous innovations and improvements on the 2017 Sculp. Starting with the canopy material, we use the latest Double Ripstop. The new Double Ripstop is lighter, has the same tearing strength in all directions, and allows 30% less air through itself. This means that the same surface area of the new Double Ripstop catches a lot more air, which results in more power and much longer hangtime.

On the wingtips of the canopy, we introduced a brand new United Dacron Panel technology. This revolutionary feature increases the kite’s rigidity and reactivity allowing for better flight experience. Every seam on the kite eventually gets stretched over time, especially in the area which is being pulled by the backlines the most. So, instead of using multiple Dacron panels, we used a single United Dacron Panel in this area. The reactions of the kite are noticeably quicker and the quick reactions do not fade over time.

The connection of the canopy to the inflated base of the kite is more precise and stronger than ever. We moved the strut connection points on the leading edge much closer to the canopy. This is tedious work, but the canopy now precisely follows the profile of the strut and ensures much more efficient airflow.

Another upgrade this year is the Synergy Strut Bond. Instead of a traditional single attachment seam, we connected the strut to the canopy with two parallel seams, creating the ultimate synergy between the strut and the kite. This synergy noticeably improved how the kite generates power during turns and kiteloops and how it holds its shape during flight.

On the inflated frame, we narrowed down the number of leading edge panels by nearly 50% on all our kites. Because the material itself is always stronger than a seam, having less panels and less seams results in the most precise and the strongest leading edge till date. Towards the wingtips, a brand new Swept Leading Edge Seam is moved higher towards the canopy where it has less influence on airflow. This allows for higher aerodynamic efficiency and more precisely controlled kite.

The Sculp received a brand new Linked Bridle, which does not have pulleys nor sliders and consists of only interconnected bridle lines. The bridle lines are connected to the leading edge and to each other only via loop ends ensuring the bridle always stays connected. The Linked Bridle creates a direct link between the rider and the kite, resulting in faster kite reactions and more precise handling. The Linked Bridle is also much more durable than conventional bridles, as it reduces bridle line movement and abrasion to minimum.

Overall, by completely reworking the construction of the 2017 Sculp, the kite is much more rigid and more durable than ever before. With the brand new construction and exploiting different ways of printing, we managed to save 10% of weight again. This is 0,5kg weight saving on a 12m kite which noticeably extends the wind range of the kite.

The 2017 Sculp raves with improvements and innovation and truly is the best Sculp we have ever made.
